I wanted to portray the subtlest emotions, the emotions so subtle and felt so long ago that even the subject itself can’t recall what it was. At the same time, I hope it was obvious; I hope that that subtle thing is the only thing you’d notice when you look at these faces.

Ever since I can remember, (cliché, but really) I was holding a pen in my hand, scribbling on the back of a used printing paper. Drawing, for me, was like brushing my teeth and washing my face in the morning, like a Korean using chopsticks at a dinner table. But it was all done by pen, and this is my first acrylic painting. And that gives enough meaning to make this painting feel special.
